# Remove a registered device

> Remove an old or unused device from your shop’s device list.

Remove a device when your shop no longer uses it. Check the name and platform carefully before deleting the entry, particularly when several devices have similar names. Finish any active payment on the device before removing it from the list.

## Who can do this?

Owners and Managers can remove devices from their shop through the device management page. Staff do not have this page. Signing out of the mobile app also attempts to remove that account’s current device registration.

## Where

In the web app, open **Devices** from the side menu. Owners can also open it through **Settings**. In the mobile app, open **Profile settings → Store Devices**. Select the intended shop before making changes.

## Remove a device

1. Find the device by name and platform, and review **Last seen**.
2. Check with your team that it is no longer needed for an active payment or customer-facing terminal.
3. In the web app, select the delete control on its row. In the mobile app, choose **Edit**, then the trash icon beside the device.
4. Read the confirmation naming the device.
5. Choose **Delete**, or **Cancel** to keep it.
6. Wait for the list to update. In the mobile app, choose **Done** when you finish editing.

If you remove the phone or tablet you are currently using, the mobile app shows a message that this device was removed. It can register again after a full app restart or a new sign-in. Simply returning to an app that was running in the background may not restore the registration.

## Platform and market notes

Removal works the same way in both supported markets. It removes the device entry, not the person’s account or shop membership. It does not cancel a payment or erase order history. Removing a row is not a way to remotely lock or wipe a lost phone.

## Troubleshooting

If the device returns, check whether someone restarted the mobile app or signed in on it. Automatic registration can create the entry again. For a lost device, contact Tapp support about account access as well as removing the device entry. If deletion fails or the result is unclear, refresh the list before trying again. The entry may already be gone. If it remains, confirm that you are an Owner or Manager for the selected shop. Signing out can succeed even when registration removal fails, so a manager should check the list afterward.
