# Print a business receipt for a paid order

> In a German shop, print a receipt with the buyer's business details from the mobile app, or add the blank business-expense form to a receipt.

Print a receipt that names a business customer for an order that is already paid, for example to claim a meal as a business expense.

## Who can do this?

**Owners and Managers** can print a business receipt with the buyer's details. Staff cannot.

**Owners, Managers and Staff** can use the **Business receipt** switch on ordinary receipts.

## Where to do it

In the mobile app, open **Manage** and select **Business receipts**. The list shows the shop's paid and completed orders.

## Print a receipt with the buyer's details

1. Find the order, by number if needed, and select it. **Print business receipt** opens with the order number and total.
2. Choose the buyer:
   * Select **Select saved customer** and pick one of your invoice customers. Only the **Buyer reference** can then be changed.
   * Or fill in the fields yourself. Typing under **Street and house number** suggests German addresses that fill in the postcode and city. A **VAT ID** is optional and must be a German one.
   * To replace a saved customer with your own entry, select **Enter details manually**.
3. Select **Select printer** and choose a printer marked **Online**.
4. The app shows **Preparing receipt…**. **Receipt sent** confirms the print request, not the printed copy.

The printout shows your business details as recorded with the sale, with tax number or VAT ID, the invoice number and date, the buyer, each item with its VAT rate and the sale's fiscal details.

## What printing creates

Printing creates and issues an invoice for the order, dated today, with the next number from the shop's number series. You find it in the web app under **Invoices**, marked **Paid POS order** and already paid.

Details you type are saved as a new invoice customer, so pick a saved customer where one exists.

Printing the same order again with the same details reuses that invoice. Once issued, the buyer details cannot be changed. If the sale is refunded in full, a cancellation invoice is issued automatically. A partial refund does not change the invoice. Contact Tapp support.

## Add the blank business-expense form

Before printing an ordinary receipt, turn on **Business receipt** in the order details above **Print receipt**, or in the **Select printer** list. The receipt ends with a blank form for the guest to fill in by hand: company and address, the people entertained, the occasion, the tip, the total, place and date, and the host's signature.

The switch does not create an invoice and is off again the next time you open the order or the printer list.

## Platform and market notes

Business receipts are only for shops in Germany, in the mobile app, and print in German.

## Troubleshooting

* **Only an owner or manager of this German store can prepare a receipt with customer details.** Ask an Owner or Manager, and check the selected shop.
* **Please enter a valid value.** Fill in every field marked \*. The postcode has five digits and a German VAT ID starts with DE followed by nine digits.
* If the order already has an invoice with different buyer details, select the original customer, or check the invoice in the web app.
* If the order is rejected, check the conditions in [Create and issue a business invoice](/en/history/create-and-issue-a-business-invoice.md), such as a single payment and no refund. Your business name, address and tax details recorded with the sale must also be complete. If they were not, this order cannot get a business receipt; changing them now only affects later sales.
* **The receipt is still being prepared.** Select **Select printer** again to continue.
* **Invoice preparation failed.** Read the reason on the invoice in the web app before trying again.
* If printing is not confirmed, check the printer. Printing again does not create a second invoice.
