# Start or resume business verification

> Complete your business verification securely, or return to an unfinished application.

Business verification checks the details needed to use Tapp's payment services. You start in Tapp and complete the requested information on a secure verification page. If you stopped partway through, you can return to the same step to continue.

## Who can do this?

You need the **Owner** role for the selected shop to start or resume verification. Managers and Staff should ask the Owner to complete it. Seeing a verification reminder does not give another team member permission to submit the business information.

## Where

In the web app, open the setup checklist using its current reminder. When verification is next, the reminder reads **Complete verification**. Complete any earlier shop, menu or billing steps first; the menu needs at least one category with an item.

## Steps

1. Check that you have selected the correct shop and are signed in as its Owner.
2. Open **Complete verification**, then select **Complete identification**.
3. The secure verification page opens in a new browser tab. Follow the instructions there and provide the information it requests.
4. Check the details carefully before submitting them. The information requested can depend on your business and country.
5. Return to Tapp when you have finished. Allow the setup checklist to refresh and check which step is offered next.
6. To continue an unfinished application, open **Complete identification** again from Tapp. This gives you a fresh link to the verification process.

## Platform notes

The mobile app also offers a verification reminder to the Owner. Opening it displays the secure verification page inside the app. Use the app's back button to return to Tapp when needed. Finishing or closing that page does not, by itself, mean your business has been approved: check the updated status in Tapp.

## Market notes

Business verification applies in Great Britain and Germany. Great Britain also requires an onboarding call after verification. In Germany, that call is normally not required; follow the steps shown for your business.

## Troubleshooting

If the browser blocks the new tab, allow it for this action and try again. If the page still will not open, or Tapp keeps showing an error, contact Tapp support with the shop name and the message you see. Submit identity documents only through the secure verification process.
