# Find products and switch menu views

> Search your menu, sort items and switch between list and grid layouts.

Use the Menu page to find an item and choose a useful way to view it. Search and layout controls help you work through a large menu without changing what your guests see.

## Who can do this?

**Owners, Managers and Staff** can view menu categories and items. Full item editing and price-list changes require an Owner or Manager.

## Where to do it

Choose **Menu** in the web app and check the shop in the shop picker.

## Find an item

1. Choose **All** to look across categories, or select a category to narrow the list.
2. Enter your search text. You can search item names, descriptions, categories, tags and standard prices. For a price search, use a decimal point, such as 12.50, without a currency symbol.
3. Clear the search to return to the full selection.
4. Move between pages if there are more than 20 results.
5. Select the item you want to inspect or edit, subject to your role.

If a familiar item is missing, check both the selected category and search text. Items with similar names can belong to different categories or shops.

## Choose a view

Use the list and grid buttons near the search field. Grid view emphasizes photos and item cards. On a wider screen, list view shows separate columns and lets you sort by name, description, category, price or margin. Select a sortable heading again to reverse the order.

List view also shows recorded item costs and separate columns for active price lists. Margin is the standard price minus the recorded item cost; changing a price-list amount does not change this column. Items without a recorded cost show no margin and sort last in either direction.

Wait for price-list amounts to finish loading before interpreting blank cells. Once loaded, a blank amount means the item uses its standard price for that list. If amounts stay unavailable, reload or check the item before assuming a list has no special price.

An eye-off indicator means the item or its category is hidden from the guest website. That does not necessarily make it unavailable for your team to sell.

## Platform notes

These controls belong to the web app. On a narrow screen, list view uses compact cards without the sortable column headings or price-list columns. Use a wider window to see the full table. Changing the list layout, sort order or search does not rearrange the guest ordering page or edit the mobile app's menu.

## Market notes

Prices use the selected shop's currency. Check the shop before comparing amounts or making price changes across locations.

## Troubleshooting

Allow a large menu to finish loading, or select one category to narrow the view. If an item is still missing, clear the search, check other pages and confirm the shop. Contact Tapp support if the menu fails to load after retrying.
