# Understand the Overview dashboard

> Review sales, orders, tips, ratings, team information and pending bookings for your shop.

Overview brings your shop's main figures and pending bookings together. Use it for a quick check of recent activity, then open the relevant page when you need to act on an order, booking or team record.

## Who can do this?

The complete dashboard is available to **Owners and Managers**. Staff may see the Overview link and some information, but some reports are unavailable or limited to their own work.

## Where to do it

Choose **Overview** in the web app and confirm the shop shown in the shop picker.

## Review your dashboard

1. Select the shop you want to review.
2. Choose the reporting period near the top of the page.
3. Read sales and order totals alongside their charts. These headline totals cover completed orders, not every paid order.
4. Check the separate cards for collected tips, average order value, confirmed bookings and ratings.
5. Review the team section and pending bookings below the figures.
6. Open **History**, **Bookings** or **View analytics** when you need more detail.

The team section shows up to five members, prioritizing the highest ratings. If nobody has a rating, it shows the first available members instead. It is not a complete attendance record or a list of everyone currently at work. Use the team and shift tools for those tasks.

The pending-bookings list is an operational list and does not use the reporting period selected above. Do not assume that it has the same meaning as the confirmed-booking total above it. A pending booking still needs attention according to your booking workflow.

## Reading empty and loading states

Cards load separately. A dash can appear while data is loading or when no rating is available. An empty team section can mean no members were returned or the information could not be loaded.

Some failed loads can appear as zero sales, orders, tips or bookings, without a separate error message. A displayed zero or unchanged comparison is therefore not proof that no activity occurred. Refresh the page and check the relevant detailed report if a value is unexpected.

Check the shop, reporting period and any message shown before deciding that an empty section indicates a problem. A missing report because of your role is different from a report containing no activity.

## Platform and market notes

This layout belongs to the web app. The mobile app offers its own views of shop activity. Dashboard amounts and dates are formatted for the selected shop; switching locations changes which shop you are reviewing.

On the mobile home screen, pull down to refresh selected information. This does not reload every card. The spinner stopping does not prove the refresh succeeded. Check the relevant order, booking or report if a figure remains unexpected.

On the mobile home screen, **To do** links to **Pending bookings**, **Incomplete orders** and, when available, **Payments on this device**. Open the relevant list to review the actual records. The pending-booking badge covers up to 100 loaded bookings, so it may not show the full backlog. The device-payment badge can differ from the order list. A missing number does not prove nothing needs attention: loading or unavailable data can hide it. An **!** marks a setup task, not a record count.

## Troubleshooting

If a recent order is missing from the figures, check it in **History**, then refresh Overview. If the dashboard and a detailed report show different totals, compare their dates and metric descriptions before assuming they should match. Overview’s headline totals and comparison percentages can also use different date rules or refund handling; see the period guide below.
