# Send payment to another device

> Send an existing order to a registered payment device and check the payment result.

Send the order to the device where payment will be taken. The receiving device works with the same order, so you do not need to build the basket again.

## Who can do this?

**Owners, Managers and Staff** can send orders for their shop to a registered Point of sale device in that shop.

## Where to do it

In the web app, review the basket and select **Continue to payment**, then **Other device**. You can also continue an unpaid order from History and choose another device there.

## Choose the device and send

1. Check the order number and amount.
2. Select the receiving device by name. Check the physical device too, especially if several devices have similar names.
3. Choose how payment should be taken. **Pick on device** lets the person using the mobile app choose the method there. Otherwise, select one of the methods offered for that device.
4. If the device is in terminal mode, choose from its available methods. Pick on device is not offered in this mode.
5. Select **Send to device**.
6. On the receiving device, open the order and follow the payment instructions.

After the send request, the web app can show a sent message and return to the basket even if delivery failed. Keep the order number and check the receiving device. Background updates stop after 30 minutes; check History if an update is missing.

## Check the outcome

A delivered message means the order reached the device. An opened message means the order was opened there. Neither confirms payment. The web app can also show **Payment received** while payment has only started. Check the order’s actual status in History before treating it as paid.

Check for a paid or completed order before treating the bill as settled. If the device is still waiting for payment, continue the existing order there. Sending an order again does not itself collect or confirm payment.

## When the device is busy

If the app warns that the terminal is handling another order, check that order on the physical device. Only confirm replacing it when you intend to interrupt that work. Choosing not to send leaves you free to use another device or finish the existing payment first.

After replacing an order on a terminal, check the earlier order in History as well. Do not assume its payment was completed or cancelled merely because a different order now appears on the device.

## Send from the mobile app

In the mobile payment choices, choose **Send to another device**. Check the amount and device name before tapping its card: tapping sends immediately, without a separate Send button. The current device is excluded. **Online** means the device was seen recently; check the physical device before relying on it.

After **Order sent**, the sending sheet closes and the app returns to the register; returning may take a moment. Neither confirms payment. Check the same order in History if the device does not respond or no payment message arrives. A connection warning does not prove the payment was cancelled.

## Platform and market notes

You can send from the web or mobile app to another device running the mobile app or terminal mode. They apply to shops in Great Britain and Germany. Available payment choices depend on the receiving device and shop setup.

The payment-request notification uses German for a business configured for Germany and English otherwise. Changing the receiving device’s app language does not change this notification’s language.

## Troubleshooting

If no device appears, check that it is registered for the correct shop and enabled for Point of sale. On the receiving device, sign in and select the same shop before sending. A handoff waiting more than five minutes can be dropped; check History and the device before resending the same order. If sending fails or the device does not respond, check its connection and the existing order in History before retrying. Contact Tapp support with the order number if the payment outcome remains unclear.
