# Create, share and deactivate voucher codes

> Create a reusable campaign code or individual single-use codes, share them and stop a code when needed.

Use voucher codes to share an offer with customers. Choose a campaign code when several customers should use the same code, or generate individual codes when each should be used once.

## Who can do this?

**Owners and Managers** can create, view and deactivate codes for their shop's promotions.

## Where to do it

Open **Promotions** in the web app and select the offer. Find its code section. Before creating codes, check that the offer's application method supports codes; creating a code does not change that setting.

## Create a campaign code

1. Select **Campaign code**.
2. Enter your chosen code, or leave the code field blank to have one generated.
3. For a custom code, use 8–64 letters A–Z or digits 0–9, without spaces or punctuation. Letter case does not matter.
4. Enter a positive whole-number usage limit if needed. Leave the limit blank for unlimited uses of this code.
5. Generate the code, then check its entry and limit in the list before sharing it.

The promotion's overall limit and conditions still apply. The list shows completed redemptions, while the limit also counts uses reserved on unfinished orders. A single-use code can therefore be unavailable even when its completed-use count is zero. An unlimited code does not make the entire offer unlimited.

## Create individual single-use codes

Open the bulk-code option, enter a whole number from 1 to 1,000 and select **Generate bulk codes**. Each generated code can be used once. Wait for the result and review the codes in the list before distributing them.

If creation reports an error, refresh the list before trying again so you can check whether any codes were created.

## Share a code

Select a code to open its sharing controls. Use **Copy code** to copy the text, **Download QR** to save a PNG image with the QR, code and Tapp logo, or **Share link** to open your device's sharing options. If sharing is unavailable, the link may be copied instead; check the message shown. Cancelling the sharing options does not copy the link automatically. A copied link still needs to be pasted into your chosen message.

In the mobile app, open the promotion and select a code. Wait for its QR to appear. On iPhone or iPad, **Download QR** opens sharing options; choose a destination and check the saved image. On Android, the mobile action currently does not attach the image: use **Download QR** in the web app for a PNG. Mobile **Share link** has no automatic clipboard fallback. If it fails or you cancel, use **Copy code** and paste the code yourself. Reopen the promotion if the QR or sharing controls do not load.

Copy, download and sharing controls can remain available for an inactive code. Check its state and remaining uses before distributing it.

The link takes the customer to the guest ordering page with the code. It does not guarantee a discount: the offer must allow guest use and meet its schedule, status, product and usage conditions.

## Deactivate a code

Select **Deactivate**, check the code in the confirmation and confirm. This stops new use of that code. It does not stop other codes, end the promotion, remove an existing order discount or refund a payment. To stop the whole offer, pause or end the promotion instead.

## Platform and market notes

Codes work in Great Britain and Germany. Codes belong to the selected shop. A QR image or shared link does not bypass the offer's restrictions, including guest visibility.

## Troubleshooting

If the code list appears empty unexpectedly, reopen the promotion and check again; a failed load can look like an empty list. If a custom code is rejected, check its format and whether it already exists in the shop. If a customer cannot redeem it, check its active state, remaining uses and the promotion's conditions. If deactivation fails, refresh the code list and inspect its state before assuming it stopped working.
