# Manage rooms

> Group your tables into rooms and choose which areas to fill first.

Create rooms to organize tables into areas such as the main floor, garden, or upstairs room. A clear room name helps staff find tables and review the right part of the shop. Room priority expresses which areas you prefer to fill first.

## Who can do this?

Owners and Managers can create, edit, and delete rooms for their shop. Staff can use room information in supported booking and floor tasks, but cannot change the room configuration.

## Where

In the web app, open **Settings → Rooms & tables**. Check the selected shop, then use the room filters or search field to find an existing room. The room header contains its actions.

## Create a room

1. Choose **Add room**.
2. Enter a name your team will recognize, such as “Garden”. The name must be non-empty, unique within the shop, and no longer than 255 characters.
3. Choose a priority from **Highest** to **Lowest**. This records your preferred area. Current automatic table suggestions use the priorities of the tables themselves; changing room priority alone does not make suggestions prefer that room. Check table priorities and the actual suggested tables.
4. Choose **Create room**.
5. Check the new room section and add tables or assign existing tables to it.

Creating a room does not create its physical tables. Add those separately with their seat counts and booking limits.

## Edit or remove a room

Use the room’s edit action to change its name or priority, then save. Renaming also requires a unique name. If saving reports an error, refresh and check the room before repeating the change. **Edit layout** opens the floor design tools instead; use it when you want to change where tables appear on the map.

To remove a room, choose its delete action and review the confirmation. Its tables and combined tables are kept and become **Unassigned**. Deleting a room is not the same as deleting its tables or cancelling their bookings.

## Platform and market notes

In the mobile app, enter the room name and choose its priority, then use **Create room** or **Save room**. Leaving the priority unchosen saves **Medium priority**. Selecting a priority alone does not save the room.

These steps describe the web app in both supported markets. Room names are the names you enter and do not translate automatically when someone changes the app language. Use names the team can recognize across devices.

## Troubleshooting

If creation fails, check for another room with the same name and refresh before trying again. If tables seem missing after deleting a room, clear the search and choose **Unassigned** or **All**. Ask Tapp support if valid room changes repeatedly fail.
