# Choose payment methods for your shop

> Manage cash and Tap to Pay settings and check device readiness.

Use payment settings to choose which supported methods your shop offers. The current controls cover **Tap to Pay on iPhone**, **Tap to Pay on Android**, and **Cash**. Enabling a method for the shop does not by itself make every team device ready to accept it.

## Who can do this?

An Owner can change payment settings. Managers and Staff cannot save these shop-level choices. Team members may still use the payment methods available to them during checkout.

## Where

In the web app, select the shop and open **Settings → Payments**. Check the shop name before changing a switch.

## Change the available methods

Saving this web settings page also switches off SEPA, Klarna, PayPal and girocard, although they have no switches here. If your shop already uses one of these methods, contact Tapp support before saving.

1. Review the three displayed methods and choose those the shop intends to use.
2. Turn **Cash** or **Tap to Pay on Android** on or off as needed.
3. For **Tap to Pay on iPhone**, read any setup message. If Tapp says an iOS device is required, dismissing that message does not enable the method. Complete the setup in the mobile app on an iPhone first.
4. Review other pending edits on the same settings page, including menu and checkout preferences.
5. Choose **Save changes** and wait for saving to finish. Reopen the settings to check the stored choices.
6. On the device that will take payments, check that the intended method is available for the shop before service begins.

## Set up Tap to Pay on iPhone

An Owner may see an iPhone setup introduction when opening the mobile home screen. Choose **Enable Tap to Pay on iPhone** and follow the instructions, or **Maybe later** to postpone setup. If the screen stays open after postponing, check your connection and retry. The mobile **Checkout & payments** switches do not set up the device or connect an Apple account. If setup is unavailable or fails, contact Tapp support before relying on the method.

If checkout says Tap to Pay on iPhone is disabled, read the message: **Settings** opens your profile setting; **Store Settings** directs an Owner to the shop switches when setup was previously completed. Managers and Staff need an Owner to enable the shop method. A completed account-linking step does not prove payment setup or shop enablement succeeded. Recheck readiness before service. If **Store limit reached** persists, contact Tapp support.

## Platform and market notes

The web app uses **Save changes**. In the mobile app, open **Shop → Checkout & payments**, change the available switches and choose **Continue**. The screen returns after a successful save. Reopen it to check the saved choices. Switching a method on without choosing **Continue** does not save it. Availability depends on the account and device in both Great Britain and Germany; a shop switch is not a guarantee that a particular phone can take a payment.

## Troubleshooting

If the mobile page shows all switches off and **Continue** is unavailable, reopen it and check your connection. A first-load failure can leave that display. Confirm the saved choices in the web app if needed.

If saving fails, check the selected shop and Owner access. The main web settings page saves several groups together, so some changes may succeed before another fails. Reopen each group you changed before retrying.

If a saved method is missing at checkout, check the device setup and any payment-readiness message. Avoid repeatedly changing the shop setting to fix a device problem. Contact Tapp support if the device remains unable to use an enabled method.

On Android, if Tapp says **Tap to Pay is disabled**, choose **Settings** in that message and check your profile’s Tap to Pay switch. If **NFC Not Available** appears, choose **Settings** and enable NFC in the phone’s settings if available. These messages apply to staff checkout; terminal mode uses its own failure screen. After a payment failure, check the existing order’s payment status before trying again.
