# Manage special opening hours

> Use dated exceptions for temporary hours, special events, or closures.

Use an exception when your shop’s hours change for a particular date or date range. For example, record a one-day closure or shorter hours during a private event. Your regular weekly schedule remains available after the exception ends.

## Who can do this?

Owners and Managers can add, edit, and delete exceptions for their shop. Staff should ask an Owner or Manager to make these changes. Confirm the shop before setting a closure.

## Where

Open **Shop overview** in the web app and find **Exceptions** below the regular opening hours. Select **Venue** or **Kitchen** in the exceptions section before making changes.

## Add an exception

1. Choose **Add**.
2. Set **From date** and **To date**. Use the same date for a one-day exception. Both the start and end date are included.
3. Enter a **Reason** that helps your team recognize the change.
4. Use the open switch to choose whether the shop or kitchen is open. For a closure, check that **Closed** is displayed.
5. For an open exception, enter opening and closing times. Choose **Add period** if you need a break between services.
6. Select the checkmark to save, then review the date range, reason, and hours.

New exceptions start with suggested hours of 10:00–18:00. Check them before saving. The open/closed switch changes this draft only; select the checkmark to apply it. Save or cancel the current edit before switching between Venue and Kitchen.

The same hours apply on every date in the range. Create separate, non-overlapping exceptions if different days need different times.

## Edit or remove an exception

Select the pencil to edit an existing entry. Save the revision with the checkmark or cancel it with **X**. To remove the entry, select its delete control and confirm the date or range in the dialog. Deletion removes all periods for the entire displayed date range. To change only part of a range, adjust or split the exception instead. After removal, the applicable regular or inherited schedule applies again.

## Platform and market notes

These steps cover the web app in both supported markets. A dated exception takes priority over the usual weekday or holiday hours. Venue and kitchen exceptions are separate; check which schedule you selected.

## Troubleshooting

When adding an exception, the calendar allows today or a future date. Existing exceptions can be edited for past dates. Moving the start beyond the end also moves the end to that date; check both before saving.

Both dates and a reason are required. The end date cannot precede the start. Open exceptions need complete periods with different start and end times and no overlap. Date ranges for the same schedule cannot overlap, including a shared boundary date. Edit the existing exception or adjust the range instead of adding a conflicting entry.
