# Move a team member to another shop

> Transfer a team member to another shop in the mobile app and verify their access.

Use reassignment when a team member is leaving one shop to work at another. Their access to the original shop is removed and they receive the selected role in the destination shop. Their Tapp account stays the same.

If they need to work at both shops, keep their existing access and arrange access to the second shop separately. Reassignment does not keep them in both teams.

## Who can do this?

You need **Owner or Manager** access in both shops. Staff cannot transfer team members. A Manager cannot transfer someone who is an Owner of the original shop. The original shop must always retain at least one Owner.

Arrange the move with the responsible person at both shops before changing access.

## Where

Use the team list in the mobile app. Select the shop the person is leaving, then open their details. The current web team side panel does not include a transfer control.

## Move the team member

1. Confirm the person and the original shop. Finish any active orders created by that person before attempting the move; the mobile app checks for these orders.
2. Open **Assigned to** and select the destination in **Choose shop**. Check the shop name and address, then tap **Continue**.
3. Leave **Role** unchanged for the transfer. If the person needs a different role in the new shop, arrange that change after verifying the move.
4. Check the displayed destination and tap **Save changes**. Choosing the shop and tapping **Continue** alone does not finish the transfer.
5. Wait for the app to return to the team list. Verify that the person has left the original team, then check their membership and role in the destination shop.

## Keep role changes separate

In this mobile screen, confirming a role change saves it for the original shop immediately. It is not simply a choice of role for the destination. A later transfer failure does not undo that role change.

The app can also save profile edits before attempting the transfer. After an error, check the person’s name, note, role, and shop membership separately before trying again.

## Platform and market notes

These steps describe the mobile app. The shop-access requirements apply in Great Britain and Germany. Your role can differ between shops, so check both before starting. Use the web app to review the team lists afterward if that is more convenient.

## Troubleshooting

A shop appearing in the list does not guarantee that you can manage its team. Check your role in both shops with an Owner.

The transfer cannot proceed if the person already belongs to the destination shop or is the original shop’s only Owner. For an existing destination membership, review the person’s access in each shop separately rather than attempting the transfer again.

If a connection problem leaves the result unclear, refresh both staff lists before retrying. Check the actual membership and role instead of assuming that an error means nothing changed. Contact Tapp support if the two lists still do not match the intended move.

If **Save changes** does not start the move, check any name or note errors first. The mobile screen can also block saving when the profile is missing an email address or phone number, even though those details cannot be edited here. Contact Tapp support if no editable field explains the problem. Do not enter made-up contact details or remove the original membership to work around a failed transfer.
