Several bookings can take place at the same time without a problem when suitable tables are available. Start by checking whether you are choosing between calendar entries or responding to a message that a table is already occupied.

Who can do this?

Owners, Managers, and Staff can inspect bookings and change their visit details or table assignments. Changing the shop’s table configuration requires an Owner or Manager.

Where

Open Bookings in the web app. Use the calendar to compare visit times or the list to find a booking mentioned in a conflict message.

Inspect the visits

  1. Select the calendar entry. If it represents several bookings, choose the intended guest and booking number from the displayed list.
  2. Compare each relevant booking’s date, start time, duration, party size, status, and assigned tables.
  3. Check the full visit length, including visits that continue after midnight. Different start times can still overlap.
  4. Review combined tables when the named tables appear different. Tables connected through a configured combination can affect one another’s availability, including connections through more than one combination.
Choosing a booking from the calendar’s list only opens it. It does not move a visit, release a table, or accept a pending request.

Resolve a table conflict

Open the booking you intend to change and choose the pencil button. Agree on an alternative time with the guest or select suitable tables. The picker is not a live availability list. Capacity warnings do not prevent selection, so check space for the whole party, then choose Save changes and wait for completion. A pending request may show a suggested table without reserving it. Another confirmed booking can take that space before you accept the request. When you confirm, Tapp keeps the suggested table if available or tries another suitable assignment. If none is available, the booking can still become confirmed without a table. Reopen it and check the assignment before planning the seating. Locking an assignment does not override another confirmed booking. After saving, reopen the affected bookings and check their times, statuses, and tables. For guests already seated, also review the active seating in the floor view. Do not mark a future guest as a no-show merely to free capacity.

Platform and market notes

The steps above describe the web app. Mobile booking screens use different controls, but saved table conflicts still need to be resolved. The same principles apply in both supported markets. Verify the selected shop before comparing reservations.

Troubleshooting

A conflict message can name occupied tables and the bookings involved. It lists at most five booking numbers, so other conflicting visits may remain. Use those details to find the visits, then review the full period. If the same error returns, review combination members and the complete visit windows rather than repeatedly saving unchanged details. If a combination seems to block a table unexpectedly, ask an Owner or Manager to review its setup or contact Tapp support.
