Set up your business and first shop with the right location details. Follow the steps for your operating market, then complete menu setup and business verification.

Who can do this?

The Owner completes initial shop setup. If you are setting up an additional shop, Tapp can skip business details that have already been completed.

Where to do it

In the web app, open the setup checklist and choose Set up your shop.

Complete your shop details

  1. Enter the legal business name and check the operating market before saving. Once your business exists, this form keeps its market fixed. Complete the additional business fields shown for your market.
  2. For Germany, complete Fiscal registration when it appears. Enter the requested tax number and, if applicable, your VAT identification number. Tapp can skip this step if it is already complete.
  3. Choose the industry that describes your business.
  4. Enter the shop address and contact phone number. Check any address filled from a search suggestion. You can also type the address manually if suggestions are missing or incomplete.
  5. Enter the shop name you want to use.
  6. Upload a logo, or skip this optional step.
  7. Add a description of your shop.
  8. Invite your team, or skip invitations until later.
  9. On the final screen, choose Go to dashboard and wait for setup to finish. Closing the panel does not complete this final save.
The shop name may start with your legal business name. Replace it if needed. Check the address country and phone country code. On the final screen, you can also use View shop page to open your guest page in a new tab, or Copy shop link to copy its address when available. These actions do not replace Go to dashboard.

Reopen the checklist to resume shop setup. Complete each save before leaving; unsaved text does not complete a step.

Platform notes

The steps above follow the web app. In mobile setup, use Search industries on Choose your industry to find and select one result, then Next. The list stays empty until you search. Changing the search does not replace your selection until you choose another result. If nothing matches, try a shorter search without extra spaces. In the address step, check country, address, city, postal code and phone country code. A second address line is optional. Germany requires Bundesland and a five-digit PLZ. Type at least three characters in Address for suggestions, or enter details manually. Check all filled fields; changing country does not clear earlier details. Wait for existing details to load, recheck the country, then select Next. Correct highlighted errors even if the button was enabled. On What’s your shop name?, check or replace the suggested name and select Looks good! Use 2–100 characters: letters, numbers, spaces, apostrophes or hyphens, without leading or trailing spaces. Tapp may return to missing industry or address details before the logo step. Wait for each save. If industry saving stays on the same screen without an error, check your connection and reopen setup before retrying; contact support if it persists.

Market notes

Germany has additional billing and fiscal setup steps. Enter the tax details requested by the form using your business records. If the fiscal step asks you to complete platform billing, complete billing, then return to continue fiscal setup.

Troubleshooting

For a field error, correct the highlighted information and submit the current step again. If creating the shop reports an error, refresh the web app and check whether the shop already appears before trying to create it again. Some details may already have been saved. If a completed step reappears, reopen it after the shop details have loaded. If the final save fails, stay on the final screen and try Go to dashboard again. Contact Tapp support if setup remains stuck or your saved operating market is wrong.
