The tables you configure are used in more than one part of Tapp. A room helps organize the floor, a table’s seats and group limits help determine suitable bookings, and its map placement helps the team find it. Change the setting that matches the result you want.

Who can do this?

Owners and Managers change room and table configuration. Owners, Managers, and Staff use that information during supported booking, seating, and order workflows. The ability to use a table during service does not grant permission to edit its setup.

Where

Configure the shop in Settings → Rooms & tables in the web app. Review the result in the relevant booking or floor screen, and check the selected shop on each device.

Choose the right change

  • Organize an area: create a room and assign its tables. Deleting the room leaves those tables unassigned rather than deleting them.
  • Change booking capacity: edit the table’s seats and minimum and maximum group sizes. A larger drawing on the floor map does not add seats.
  • Offer tables together: create a combined table and review its members and maximum group size.
  • Hide a table from online assignment: turn off Bookable online. Staff workflows may still allow the table to be used.
  • Change the map: use Edit layout. Removing a table from the drawing does not remove it from the shop or stop bookings.
Online combinations need their member tables to be eligible. A combination containing a table marked Online hidden is excluded from online assignment, even if the combined card has no availability switch. Guests can still submit booking requests when no eligible table is available; check Bookings for requests without a table.

Review active work

Before moving or removing a table, check existing bookings and active seating. Deletion is blocked for linked pending, confirmed, or no-show bookings whose start time has not passed. That check does not protect every ongoing visit. Check the live floor and finish any active visit before deleting a table. Changing online availability or map placement does not cancel bookings or end visits. Table priorities influence automatic assignment; room priority alone does not make an area fill first. A combination’s room does not move its member tables into that room. After saving, review the relevant screen and tell the team about changes that affect service. Do not delete and recreate a table merely to refresh its display; the replacement is a new table and does not automatically inherit its history.

Platform and market notes

These principles apply in both supported markets. Web and mobile screens use the shop’s saved configuration, but may need to refresh. Room and table names remain as entered when the app language changes.

Troubleshooting

If views disagree, confirm the shop and table name, then refresh. Check room assignment, online availability, combination members, and active bookings separately. Contact Tapp support if the saved settings still do not explain what you see.
