Remove a team member when they should no longer access the selected shop. This removes their membership in that shop. It does not delete their Tapp account or remove their memberships in other shops.

Who can do this?

Owners can remove other team members, subject to the rule that a shop must keep an Owner. Managers can remove Managers and Staff, but cannot remove an Owner. Staff cannot remove team members.

Where

Open Staff in the web app, select the person, and find the trash icon at the top of the side panel. The panel does not show this action when you are viewing your own account.

Remove the membership

  1. Confirm the selected shop and the person’s name, contact details, and role. Check that this is the membership you intend to end.
  2. If the person is moving to another shop, review the reassignment guide first. Removal by itself does not give them access elsewhere.
  3. Choose the trash icon and check the name in the Remove staff member? confirmation.
  4. Confirm with Remove only when the intended membership is correct. Wait for the action to finish.
  5. Return to the staff list and verify that the person is no longer listed for this shop. Refresh the list if it still shows old information.
This action removes shop access. It does not erase the person’s account or historical transactions.

Keep an Owner responsible

The shop’s only Owner cannot be removed. If responsibility is changing, first have an Owner make another suitable member an Owner, then verify that membership before removing the previous one. A Manager cannot perform the removal of an Owner. If you need to leave your own shop membership, ask another authorized team member or Tapp support about the appropriate next step; the web profile’s removal action is for other people.

Platform and market notes

These steps describe the web app. The mobile app also has team management with different controls. The same membership and ownership safeguards apply in both supported markets. The person’s separate account and access to other shops are not the membership being removed here. The mobile app can stop removal when it finds active orders created by the person. Review those orders and complete the outstanding work before trying again. Do not assume that the absence of this warning in the web app means that no orders remain.

Troubleshooting

If removal fails, check your role, the person’s role, and whether the shop would lose its only Owner. After a connection problem, refresh the staff list before repeating the action. If the person needs access again, review the invitation flow instead of assuming the old membership can be restored with an undo button. Contact Tapp support if the saved membership remains unclear.
