Use the floor’s no-show action when a reservation is overdue and the party has not been seated. A late indicator alone is not proof that the guest will not arrive. Check with the team before changing the booking’s attendance status.

Who can do this?

Owners, Managers, and Staff can record a no-show for their shop’s bookings.

Where

Open Live floor in the web app and find the table showing the overdue reservation. A table with no active seated visit can offer Free up table alongside Seat now.

Check and release the reservation

  1. Confirm the selected shop, table, guest, booking time, and party size. Check that the booking is confirmed and that another team member has not already seated the group elsewhere.
  2. If the guest is present, use Seat now for the correct reservation instead of recording a no-show.
  3. If the guest has not arrived and the team has decided to release the reservation, select Free up table.
  4. Read the confirmation. It should ask whether to mark the named booking as a no-show. If it describes closing an active visit instead, cancel and inspect the table’s current state.
  5. Choose Mark no-show and wait for the update to finish.
  6. Refresh the floor and check the booking in Bookings. Its status should be No show. Another reservation may now appear on the table, so it will not necessarily look empty.

Keep seating and attendance separate

This action releases the reservation’s hold on its assigned tables. It does not settle a bill or cancel an order. When a party is already seated, Free up closes its active visit instead; use the closing guide for that situation. If the guest arrives after a no-show was recorded, review the current availability before seating them. Do not assume the original table is still available or that the web booking details provide a restore button. Contact Tapp support if you need help correcting an incorrectly recorded status.

Platform and market notes

The mobile app also offers a no-show confirmation for an overdue, unseated booking from table details. Labels and dialogs differ, so read the proposed action before confirming. The same distinction between an unseated reservation and an active visit applies in both supported markets.

Troubleshooting

A pending request cannot be marked as a no-show. Review it in Bookings using the available request actions. If the update fails, refresh and inspect the booking’s current status. Another team member may already have changed it. Use Bookings when the floor shows another guest or the action is missing. The web floor stops showing a late booking when its planned visit ends, and can prioritize another arrival within 20 minutes. Neither change records a no-show automatically. Do not repeat the action against a newly displayed reservation after the first one disappears. Contact Tapp support if the saved status and floor remain inconsistent after refreshing.
