Create a file for your tax adviser from your closed business days: a DATEV posting batch they import as a posting proposal, or a daily takings CSV. Each file covers every shop in your German business. Your tax adviser reviews and posts the proposal. Before you start, set up and confirm your accounting settings. See Set up accounting for your tax adviser.

Who can do this?

Only the business Owner can check periods, create files and download them. Managers and Staff cannot use these exports.

Where to do it

In the web app, select a German shop and open Settings → Accounting & tax adviser. Use the Create posting proposal section and the Past posting proposals list below it.

Steps

  1. Choose the period with Month to date, Last month or Last quarter, or enter From and To dates. The end date must be before today.
  2. Under Format, choose DATEV posting batch or Daily takings (CSV).
  3. Select Run checks. All checks passed means the file can be created. Otherwise, fix each listed point, using Go to field where offered. Read any Notes, for example about days without a bookable amount. The checks always test the DATEV posting batch for the period, even when you choose the takings CSV.
  4. Select Generate posting batch or Generate takings CSV. The file is created right away and appears in the card.
  5. Select Download to save the file and pass it to your tax adviser.
If the generate button is unavailable, point to or focus the help icon (?) next to it to see which settings are missing or still need to be confirmed.

Find earlier files

Past posting proposals lists recently created files for the whole business, newest first, each with its period, format and status:
  • Ready: select Download.
  • Failed: select Show check report to see why, fix the points and create the file again.
  • Expired: the file is no longer stored. Create it again for the same period.
If Download says the file is no longer available, the entry changes to Expired. Create the file again for the same period. If the period overlaps a file you already created, the card warns you. Do not import the same days twice. If you create a file again with exactly the same period and format, you get the existing file instead of a new one.

Platform and market notes

These exports are in the web app only and are available for German shops, not for shops in Great Britain. They use the cash point closings from your fiscal records.

Troubleshooting

  • The posting proposal cannot be generated for this period yet: read the listed points. If days without a cash point closing are listed: in automatic closing mode, generating the file submits the missing closings itself, so try generating. In manual mode, close those days first. See Use fiscal records and exports in Germany.
  • Invalid range. From must be on or before To.: check the dates. This also appears when To is today or later.
  • The range is too long. Please choose a shorter range.: split the period, for example by month.
  • The selected range lies outside the financial year.: split the period at the start of your financial year.
  • The range starts before the DSFinV-K go-live date.: choose a later start date.
  • Review the saved configuration and enable exports.: confirm the settings again after your last save.
  • The checks or a failed file name the money transit or cash difference account: enter it under Contra accounts in your accounting settings, confirm the configuration again and create the file again.
  • Posting proposals cannot be generated at the moment. Please try again later.: wait and try again.
  • If Tapp reports inconsistent data or totals that do not balance, or a file failed without a check report, contact Tapp support with the period and format.
