The hours that apply on a particular date can differ from the usual weekday hours. A holiday or dated exception may change them, and the kitchen may use its own schedule. Check these choices when a date looks different from what you expected.

Who can do this?

Owners and Managers can review and adjust the shop’s schedules. Staff who notice unexpected hours should give an Owner or Manager the shop, date, and whether the question concerns the venue or kitchen.

Where

In the web app, open Shop overview and review Opening hours and Exceptions. Use the Venue and Kitchen tabs to check the correct schedule.

Check venue hours

  1. Look for an exception whose date range includes the date in question.
  2. If one exists, its hours or closed status take priority.
  3. Otherwise, check whether the date is a holiday for the shop’s holiday calendar.
  4. For a holiday, use the National holidays row. For another date, use its weekday row.
For example, a Friday exception closing at 16:00 replaces the usual Friday hours for that date. It also takes priority if that Friday is a holiday. An exception replaces the day’s hours rather than adding another period to them.

Check kitchen hours

If you have saved a kitchen weekly schedule, the kitchen uses its own weekday or holiday row and its own exceptions. Later venue changes do not automatically change it. If no kitchen weekly schedule exists, kitchen hours follow the venue. A kitchen exception still wins for its dates. Without a kitchen exception, a venue exception can apply too. This lets you shorten kitchen service for one date without creating a separate weekly kitchen plan.

Platform and market notes

Holiday dates depend on the shop’s holiday country and region, not the app language. A holiday in one region may be a normal weekday elsewhere. These rules apply in both supported markets. For service after midnight, also check the previous day. A Friday period of 18:00–02:00 continues into Saturday morning even if Saturday is marked closed. To close from midnight, adjust the Friday period too; a Saturday closure does not shorten it.

Troubleshooting

Start with the shop and exact date, then check exceptions before changing the regular week. For unexpected kitchen hours, check whether the kitchen still follows the venue. Deleting an exception restores the applicable regular or inherited hours; it does not automatically close that date. Contact Tapp support if the saved schedules do not explain the result.
