Turn on POS for a registered device when you want it to receive eligible payments sent from another device. Choose the device carefully so the payment appears on the screen your team and customer are expecting.

Who can do this?

Owners and Managers can change POS settings for devices in their shop. Owners, Managers, and Staff can also change POS mode for their own current device in the mobile app.

Where

For your current device, open Profile settings in the mobile app and find This device. For the team’s devices, Owners and Managers open Devices from the side menu in the web app or Store Devices in their mobile profile.

Enable your current device

  1. Confirm that you are signed in to the right shop.
  2. Open This device and check the device name.
  3. Turn on POS mode.
  4. Wait for the setting to update; there is no separate Save button.
  5. Keep the app open and connected when you want to receive a payment.
Enabling POS also reveals Terminal mode on your current device’s card. Open that option separately if you want a customer-facing payment screen.

Enable another team device

Find its row in the shop device list. In the web app, turn on POS. In the mobile app, use the switch on its card; leave Edit mode first if delete buttons are showing. Confirm with the person using the device that it is ready before selecting it at checkout.

Stop receiving new payments

Turn off the same POS switch when the device should no longer receive newly sent payments. Finish any current payment first: changing this setting does not cancel it. Recheck POS mode after a full app restart or a new sign-in, because automatic registration can turn it back on.

Platform and market notes

POS settings work in both supported markets. Enabling POS makes a device eligible for selection; it does not add unsupported payment hardware or enable every payment method. Tap to Pay and other payment choices still depend on the device and shop’s settings.

Troubleshooting

If the switch will not change, check your role and whether you are changing your own device or another person’s. Reopen the device list or profile and check the saved switch before retrying an uncertain change. If the device is missing at checkout, confirm the same shop, POS setting, connection, and current app session. The mobile payment picker excludes the phone you are currently using, so look for another device there. Last seen alone does not prove payment readiness.
