Use Visible to guests to decide whether customers can access a promotion from the guest ordering page. Turning it off hides the offer from guests and prevents them from applying it with a code, even if someone has already shared that code.

Who can do this?

Owners and Managers can change guest visibility for their shop’s editable promotions.

Where to do it

Open Promotions in the web app, confirm the shop and select the promotion. Find Visible to guests in its details. You can also choose guest visibility while creating a promotion.

Change the setting

  1. Review the offer name and conditions so you change the correct promotion.
  2. Turn Visible to guests on to allow guest use, subject to the offer’s other conditions.
  3. Turn it off when the offer should only be applied by the team during checkout.
  4. Wait for the save confirmation. The switch saves immediately; there is no separate Save step for this setting on the detail page.
  5. Reopen the promotion to check the saved setting before sharing it.
An ended promotion cannot be changed. Offers controlled by a plan may also reject changes from this page. Contact Tapp support with the offer’s name if that happens.

What guests will see

Guest visibility is separate from activation and timing. Turning it on does not activate a draft, resume a paused offer or change its schedule. A currently available offer may appear on the guest ordering page when its application method allows browsing. An offer that requires a code remains code-only: making it visible to guests does not add it to the browsable offer list. Guests need a valid code and must meet the offer’s conditions. Turning visibility off prevents new guest applications by code or voucher link as well as hiding the offer. This setting does not remove discounts already saved on orders or refund payments. The team can still apply an eligible offer through the supported checkout controls, subject to their access and the promotion’s application method. The menu banner describes offers and can say whether the offer covers selected items or requires a minimum spend. It does not apply the discount when a guest merely views it. In the basket, guests choose Apply beside an available offer or enter a code and apply it. A shared voucher link can also try to apply its code automatically once the guest has a basket. A banner saying a code is saved or will be applied does not confirm success. Guests should check the applied discount and total before paying.

Platform and market notes

These steps describe the web app for shops in Great Britain and Germany. Check the selected shop before changing visibility or sharing an offer. Guest access should be checked from the guest ordering page, rather than inferred from the management list.

Troubleshooting

If a recently hidden offer remains on a guest’s open page, refresh that page. A stale display does not make the offer redeemable. If a visible offer cannot be used, check whether it is active, within its schedule and eligible for the current basket. Check code requirements and remaining uses too. If saving visibility fails, reopen the promotion and inspect the saved value before assuming it changed. Contact Tapp support if the result remains unclear.
