Menu display settings let you simplify the guest menu cards without deleting the information stored on an item. Review the guest ordering page after saving because list cards and item details do not hide the same information.

Who can do this?

Owners and Managers can change the shop’s menu display settings. Staff cannot save these settings. Confirm the selected shop before making changes; the choices affect that shop’s menu rather than just your own screen.

Where

In the web app, open Settings and find Menu. The controls are Show images, Title, Description, Tags, and Duration.

Adjust the menu cards

  1. Choose a menu item that has an image, description, and tags so you can check the effect of each setting.
  2. Turn the relevant switches on or off. Images appear only when the item already has an image; enabling a switch does not create missing content.
  3. Review any other changes you have made on the same settings page, including payment and checkout choices.
  4. Choose Save changes and wait for saving to finish.
  5. Reopen the settings to check the saved choices. Then refresh the guest ordering page and inspect both the menu card and the item’s detail page.

What these switches do not hide

The guest menu cards use the title, description, tags, and image choices. The item detail page can still show the title and description when they are hidden on cards. Do not put private information into item content and rely on these switches to conceal it. The current guest menu does not show a duration field controlled by Duration, so changing that switch does not add a preparation-time estimate there. These settings also do not change item prices, availability, or the contents of an order.

When item fields disappear

The Title, Description, Tags and Duration switches also control whether those fields appear in the web item editor. To edit a hidden field, turn its switch on, save the settings and reopen the item editor. Keep Title enabled when creating an item: a name is required to save, even when its field is hidden. Existing item information is not deleted by hiding the field.

Platform and market notes

Use the web app and Save changes to adjust these display choices. Check the guest page after saving; do not assume every screen displays the same information. The display settings apply in Great Britain and Germany. They do not translate names or descriptions. Keep customer-facing item text appropriate for the people ordering from your shop.

Troubleshooting

If a change seems missing, check the shop, reload the saved settings, and refresh the guest page. Compare an item with existing content. The main web settings page saves several groups together, and one group can save even if another fails. After an error, inspect each group you changed before retrying. Contact Tapp support if saved choices still produce an unexpected result.
