Extend the expected end of an active table visit when the party needs more time. Review upcoming reservations before agreeing to the extension, and check the saved end afterward so the team works from the same plan.

Who can do this?

Owners, Managers, and Staff can extend active table visits. Guests cannot use the floor controls.

Where

In the web app, open Live floor, select the occupied table, and find Extend time in its details.

Add more time

  1. Check the seated party and current expected end. Make sure this is the active visit you intend to extend.
  2. Use the plus and minus buttons to choose additional minutes. The web control starts at 30 minutes and offers 15-minute steps from 15 to 120 minutes.
  3. Read the proposed new end and the next booking shown beside it. The additional minutes are added to the existing expected end. If no expected end is saved, the extension uses the current time.
  4. Choose Extend to with the proposed time and wait for the action to finish.
  5. Reopen or refresh the table and check its saved expected end. Tapp can limit the extension at the start of another upcoming booking on the occupied tables. The saved end can therefore be earlier than the time you requested.
The next-booking preview is limited to the selected table’s loaded bookings; check the other tables in a shared visit too. The success message may repeat the minutes requested. Use the saved expected end to decide how much additional time is available, especially when another reservation is close.

Understand what changes

This action changes the active table visit’s expected end. It does not change the linked reservation’s duration through these web or mobile controls. Review the booking separately if its planned visit details also need correction. An expected end is a planning time, not an automatic instruction for guests to leave. A visit that has passed its expected end remains active until the team closes it. Extending it does not settle orders or take payment.

Platform and market notes

In the mobile app’s table details, Extend time starts at 30 minutes. Use plus or minus for 15-minute steps from 15 to 120 minutes, then tap Extend time to with the proposed time. The preview shows a clock time without a date. Check the saved end and the complete visit time, especially across midnight. Changing the minute selection alone does not save an extension.

Troubleshooting

After an error or unclear response, refresh and check the saved end before retrying, since repeating the action can add more time. If the table is already closed, refresh and inspect its current state; only active visits can be extended. If an overdue visit still shows an end in the past after adding time, compare the old end with the minutes added. If a booking is already due or the schedule looks inconsistent, review the reservations and table assignments rather than relying on the extension to resolve the conflict. Contact Tapp support if the saved result remains unclear.
