Build the customer’s order in Point of sale, then review the basket before opening payment. Check the selected shop first so you use the right menu and currency.

Who can do this?

Owners, Managers and Staff can create orders for their shop.

Where to do it

Open Point of sale in the web app. Select a category or search by name, description or tag. Search stays within the selected category; select All to search across the menu. Clear the search text to see every item again.

Add products and options

  1. Tap an item’s card to add one to the basket. Tapping the card adds it without options, even when options are available.
  2. To choose options, select the + on the item card instead. In the details screen, select the options the customer wants and adjust the quantity.
  3. Select Add to cart to add that selection and return to the menu.
  4. Repeat for the remaining products. Review separate basket lines carefully when the same product has different options or prices.
  5. Use the basket’s + and − controls to change quantities. Reducing a new order’s line to zero removes it.
  6. Add an order note if needed, then check all items, quantities, discounts and the total.
  7. Select Continue to payment and wait for the payment choices to appear.
Adding items and continuing to payment do not themselves confirm a payment. Follow the selected payment method through to its result.

Check prices and availability

Sold-out items cannot be added from the menu cards. If a price list is selected, check each basket line before charging. Items added through the options screen currently use the standard menu price plus the selected options, even when a different price list is selected. If that is not the price you intend to charge, resolve it before payment and contact Tapp support if needed. Choose the price list before adding products. Changing the selection does not update prices already shown in the basket. The same product can appear on separate lines when added under different price lists. Check the final order total again after continuing to payment. When editing an existing order opened from History, the basket does not let you remove its last remaining item. Use the order’s cancellation action if you need to cancel the whole order.

Platform and market notes

These steps describe the web app for shops in Great Britain and Germany. Check the shop’s currency and total whenever you switch shops. Product cards are unavailable while the payment screen is open. Return through the payment controls and check the order’s status before changing its contents. In the mobile app, the basket opens as a sheet on iPhone and a full-screen view on Android. Use the close button to return. Wait for quantity updates to finish before tapping + or − again. The note field is temporarily unavailable while its text is being saved. In the mobile menu, use + for options and quantity. The subtotal uses the selected price list plus options. Add to cart closes the sheet immediately. Quantities can change before saving finishes and revert after an error. Wait and check the basket before retrying. If adding failed, reopen and reselect: each opening starts with one item and no options. A new order may already exist even if its first item failed to add. When editing a basket item, select Confirm once and wait. It is unavailable while saving. A failed save leaves this screen open; check the basket before retrying. Review the final basket price before payment.

Troubleshooting

If Continue to payment is unavailable, check that a shop is selected and the basket contains an item. Wait if the app is already preparing the order. If preparation fails, inspect the basket and any existing order number before retrying. If saving the note fails, the order may still have proceeded to payment: check the note separately instead of creating another order.
