A combined table lets you offer two or more physical tables together for a larger party. It has its own name and maximum group size while keeping the individual tables available as separate tables when the booking situation permits.

Who can do this?

Owners and Managers can create, edit, and delete combined tables. Staff can use combinations in supported booking and seating workflows, but cannot change their configuration.

Where

In the web app, open Settings → Rooms & tables. Choose Add combined table from a room’s menu or the unassigned area. Use Edit combined table on an existing combined-table card to change it.

Create a combination

  1. Enter a unique name, up to 255 characters, that the team can recognize.
  2. Choose a room, or leave a new combination without a room.
  3. Add at least two different physical tables from this shop. The picker can include tables from other rooms. Check that staff can use them together; choosing a room for the combination does not move its member tables into that room.
  4. Drag the selected members to put them in the intended order.
  5. Review Max party size. Initially, this follows the total seats of the selected tables.
  6. Enter a different maximum if needed, then choose Create combined table.
  7. Check the saved card’s name, members, and group limit.
Changing the maximum creates a custom limit. To return to the total member seats, use Reset to followed by the displayed seat count. Review the limit again whenever you change members; a custom limit stays fixed while you edit. When you reopen a combination whose saved limit equals its current total seats, it follows member-seat changes again.

Edit or delete a combination

Open Edit combined table, make your changes, and save. You can change an existing combination to another room. Choosing No room does not currently clear a previously assigned room; contact Tapp support if you need that change. Deleting a combination removes the group, not its physical tables. If an individual table is deleted separately, review any combination that used it, because the group may no longer contain enough tables.

Platform and market notes

These steps describe the web app in both supported markets. Names are not translated automatically. Online bookings exclude combinations containing an online-hidden member; review each table’s availability if the combination is missing online.

Troubleshooting

Check for a blank or duplicate name, fewer than two members, or a maximum below two if saving fails. A table already selected is not offered again. Confirm the shop if a member is missing. After an uncertain save, reload the combination and check its members, order and limit before trying again. Contact Tapp support if a valid combination still cannot be saved.
