Add an offer to the basket before collecting payment. You can choose an available promotion or enter the customer’s code. Only one offer applies; another choice in the web picker replaces the previous selection.

Who can do this?

Owners, Managers and Staff can apply eligible offers to their shop’s orders. Creating and managing promotions is a separate task for Owners and Managers. Browsing the promotion list currently requires an Owner or Manager. Staff can apply a valid code, but may be unable to load the list of offers. Ask an Owner or Manager to help when that list is unavailable.

Where to do it

In the web app, open Point of sale and add products to the basket. Select Add discount or code below the order note to open the offer picker.

Choose a promotion

  1. Review the available promotions and choose the one intended for this sale.
  2. If an offer requires a code, enter that code instead of trying to select the offer directly.
  3. Check the discount name, amount and new total in the basket.
  4. Review the products and quantities once more before selecting Continue to payment.
  5. Wait for the payment choices and check the final amount before collecting payment.
An item-specific offer needs matching products in the basket. A promotion appearing in the picker does not guarantee that every basket qualifies.

Enter a voucher or promotion code

Enter the code in the code field and select Apply. If it is accepted, the picker closes and the basket shows the discount. If it is rejected, read the message and check the code, current items and any minimum-spend requirement before trying again. In the web app, the code discount is a preview based on the total when you checked it. After changing items or quantities, check the code again and compare the final amount at payment. A code can have restrictions such as an active period or usage limit. Do not replace a rejected code with a guessed discount amount.

Change or remove an offer

Open the picker to select a different offer. Use the × beside the basket’s discount to remove it when that control is available. Check the updated total after either action. Removing a newly selected offer can reveal an earlier discount already saved on the order. Check its name and total; remove the remaining discount too if it should no longer apply. The offer is checked again when you continue to payment. If that check fails, the app shows an error and stops before opening the payment choices. Review the order again: the discount you saw earlier may no longer apply, and replacing an existing offer may already have removed the previous discount.

Scan a voucher in the mobile app

In the basket, open Add discount or code → Scan QR and allow camera access. Scan one voucher QR. An accepted scan immediately applies the discount to the order. Check the basket’s discount and total. Remove an existing discount with the bin control before applying another. If camera access is denied, choose Open Settings, allow access, then reopen the scanner. If no camera is available, enter the printed code manually. After a rejected or stalled scan, check the order before retrying or entering the code. Use a voucher QR, not a payment QR.

Platform and market notes

Both apps support shops in Great Britain and Germany. Offers belong to the selected shop, and amounts use its currency. Check the shop when a code is unexpectedly unavailable. If a payment has already started, return through the payment controls and verify its status before changing the offer. Do not ask the customer to use an earlier payment link after changing the total.

Troubleshooting

If an offer cannot be selected or its details fail to load, check the basket and try again after the details load. If applying or removing it fails, inspect the current order total before taking payment. Contact Tapp support with the order number and displayed message if the amount remains unclear.
