Who can do this?
Owners, Managers and Staff can request deletion of their own account from their profile settings in the mobile app. Use the email address your Tapp account is registered with, so Tapp can find the right account.Where to do it
In the mobile app, open Profile settings. Below your name and contact details, choose Press here to request account deletion. This opens the account deletion request form. The web app has no account deletion option, so the request starts in the mobile app.Steps
- Choose Press here to request account deletion and wait for the form to load.
- Under Your name, enter your full name.
- Under Account email, enter the email address your Tapp account is registered with.
- Tick the box to confirm that you want your Tapp account and its personal data deleted. The request cannot be sent without this confirmation.
- Optionally, add details under Anything we should know, such as the name of your business. Keep this note under 2,000 characters.
- Choose Request deletion and wait while the form shows Sending….
- When the form shows Request sent, Tapp has received your request. Choose Close to return to your profile settings.
What happens next
According to the form, Tapp checks that the request comes from the account holder. Tapp then deletes the account and the personal data it no longer needs, and emails you when this is done. The form does not state how long this takes. Some records must be kept by law after an account is closed, such as transaction and accounting records under tax and anti-money-laundering rules. The form says that Tapp keeps only those records and deletes or anonymises them when the retention period ends. Payment data held by Tapp’s payment processor follows that processor’s own rules.Platform and market notes
The request form opens from the mobile app’s profile settings. If you cannot use the mobile app, the form names email as an alternative: write to Tapp support from your account’s email address and ask for your account to be deleted. As an example of a retention period, the form states that records can be kept for up to ten years in Germany.Troubleshooting
