Tapp Print Station connects a receipt printer at your counter to your shop. Keep it running on the connected computer while you use receipt printing. Saving a printer preference is separate from confirming that a receipt has physically printed.

Who can do this?

Owners and Managers can manage printer setup. The current web receipt-settings page only lets Owners change automatic printing and the default printer. Managers should ask an Owner to make those changes here. Staff can read printer and receipt settings, but cannot manage them; print-station details require Owner or Manager access.

Where

In the web app, select your shop and open Settings → Receipt printing. Use the information icon beside the settings heading for the displayed setup instructions.

Connect the printer

  1. Choose Windows or macOS (Apple Silicon) in the download area and select Download Print Station. Use the installer offered on the page for the counter computer.
  2. Run the installer and sign in to Print Station with your Tapp account.
  3. Follow the setup instructions to select the shop and connected USB printer. Check that the shop is the one you intend to print for.
  4. Choose Save & start in Print Station and leave it running in the computer’s menu bar or tray.
  5. Return to receipt printing in the web app. Check the printer name, paper width, and connection information when the printer appears.

Choose automatic printing

As an Owner, select the active printer under Default printer and review Print automatically on payment. Each change starts saving immediately; wait for the saved confirmation before changing another setting. Confirm both the printer selection and switch after reopening the page. The default badge is shown only while automatic printing is enabled. Its absence does not necessarily mean that no printer was selected. For a suitable paid order, check the printed receipt itself before relying on the setup during service.

Platform and market notes

This guide covers the web settings and the separate Print Station application for a counter computer. The offered Mac installer is for Apple Silicon. Ask Tapp support before using it on a different Mac. The same setup page is used for shops in Great Britain and Germany. Printer setup does not change the shop’s receipt details or fiscal settings.

Troubleshooting

If settings keep loading or a previously connected printer is missing, check your connection and reload the page. The printer list and settings load separately; a failed load can resemble an empty list. After a save error, reload and check both the switch and default printer before retrying. A change may already have been saved. If no printer appears, check the selected shop, USB connection, and whether Print Station is running. Only active printers appear in this list. For an offline printer, check the computer’s connection and the last contact shown when available. An online status describes the print station’s connection; it does not confirm paper, successful output, or that a particular receipt printed. A completed payment can remain successful even if printing does not happen. Check the order and printer before requesting another receipt, and contact Tapp support if the problem continues.
